About Our Practice
We are one of the premier retinal subspecialty groups in the country, providing outstanding retinal care for the Northern Central Valley since 1975. From the time of our founding as the first retina-only practice in Sacramento, we have grown to serve much of Northern California, with eleven offices and more locations planned. All Retinal Consultants physicians are board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and specialize exclusively in diseases of the retina, vitreous, and macula. We also have an ocular oncology division that focuses on the treatment of cancers inside the eye. Our surgeons have studied and trained at some of the most renowned institutions in the world and all have graduated with top honors.
As a group of highly specialized eye surgeons, we are devoted to providing the highest level of care for all types of vitreoretinal illnesses. All of our doctors are board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and are fellowship-trained members of the American Society of Retina Specialists.
Our practice is continually evolving to provide you with the latest treatments available. We have an active research division performing clinical trials that has been contributing to the advancement of retinal care for over a decade. Many of our current therapies have developed through research performed at our practice and we continue to search for new and better treatments.
We dedicate ourselves to providing world-class medical and surgical care for patients with retinal disease. To provide expert care, we continually invest in modern diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, including state-of-the-art retinal imaging, laser treatment, and diagnostic testing. We combine this with the clinical expertise of our physicians, the dedication of our excellent staff, and a network of convenient office locations throughout the Northern Central Valley to provide compassionate, individualized, accurate, and timely diagnosis and treatment for each of our patients.
Why You Should Choose a Dedicated Retina Practice
The retina is a layer of photosensitive tissue that lines the back of the eye. Thinner than the wing of a butterfly, it plays an extraordinary role in our ability to see. When the retina becomes damaged, it can have significant consequences on our vision. Retina problems are also the leading causes of blindness.Because of the retina’s delicate structure, it takes a highly-skilled physician to treat it. Retina specialists spend many years training to master the precise techniques that are necessary for treating, preventing, and curing retinal conditions and blindness.
At Retina Consultants Medical Group, our team of retina specialists has over 100 years of cumulative experience providing the highest level of care for all vitreoretinal conditions and diseases. We are not jacks of all trades, but masters of one singular discipline. Nothing is more precious than your vision – trust only a team of experts to preserve it.
